The Starting Point

When I joined the project, I found a product with huge potential: an essential tool for healthcare professionals and patients to avoid dangerous drug interactions. But the website wasn’t communicating that value. The landing page was too technical, visually cluttered, and had poor navigation — reflected in the numbers: high bounce rates and low session times.

The Turning Point – Understanding User and Market Needs

My first step was to conduct desk research and benchmarking. I analyzed the market and direct competitors to understand how healthcare platforms communicated value, usability, and navigation patterns.

At the same time, I dove into Google Analytics and uncovered a critical data point: users spent an average of just 9 seconds on desktop.

To complement the data with real-world context, I also conducted interviews with the client. These conversations revealed key pain points from their perspective — from how users misunderstood the purpose of the tool to confusion around the homepage structure. Listening to their experience helped me connect the analytics to actual user behavior and business needs, grounding the redesign in both evidence and empathy.

Identifying Core Priorities

With these insights, I asked the key question: How can we present InterageApp’s value proposition clearly within the first few seconds, and engage any visitor?

The challenge became clear: simplify the message and structure an experience that highlighted the core functionality right away.

Before redesign

Creative Collaboration – Prioritized Solutions

I facilitated sessions with stakeholders using brainwriting to generate fast, unrestricted ideas. I organized insights into affinity diagrams and prioritized using an effort–impact matrix.

The solution took shape: clean hierarchy, accessible language, and a strong emphasis on the core feature — drug interaction search.

From Design to Development – Accessibility and Consistency

From early wireframes, I ensured the layout was responsive and accessible, meeting WCAG principles. I created reusable components and prepared a detailed handoff for developers — with documented grid, contrast, spacing, and best practices.

Real Results – Measurable Impact

The new design transformed performance:

  • Sessions rose from 506 to 8,000

  • +1482% new users

  • Average user time jumped from 12s to 43s

  • Average session time grew from 9s to 31s

  • 82% of traffic came from organic search

Users now understood the value within the first scroll — driving trust and conversions.

What I Learned – Reflections on My Design Journey

This project taught me valuable lessons:

  • Using data and benchmarking as strategic inputs

  • Prioritizing message clarity and mobile focus

  • Structuring decisions with an effort–impact matrix

  • Ensuring clear documentation and efficient cross-functional collaboration

Final Thoughts – It’s About More Than Data

More than just metrics, this project shows how data, research, and strategic design can transform a technical product into an accessible, intuitive, and trustworthy experience.

📩 Let’s connect! I’m happy to talk about strategic design, accessibility, and working with cross-functional teams.
